With the success of the previous article on the amazing places to meet, I decided to write a special post showing other places where nature managed to overcome our civilization, with an impressive diversity: vegetation, sand, stones, among others. You will surely be surprised by the most interesting aspects of the main points of our planet.

1 - Kolmanskop, Namibia

2 - Ta Prohm, Cambodia

Between the 9th and 12th centuries, most of Southeast Asia was dominated by the Khmer Empire, which erected sacred Pharaonic buildings, such as the temple of Angkor Wat. In addition to it, there is another building in the Khmer architectural complex that draws a lot of attention: Ta Prohm, which is taken over by trees that grow inside and outside its ruins. The temple was one of the sets of the film “Lara Croft: Tom Raider”, starring Angela Jolie and released in 2001.

3 - Houtouwan Village, China

Interestingly, the houses that were abandoned by fishermen on this island have been transformed into green spaces by nature over the years.

4 - Ross Island, India

As with Ta Prohm in Cambodia, the buildings on this Indian island are also being regenerated by vegetation. In this case, the occupation of nature started only in the 1940s, when the island was abandoned by its residents after being hit by an earthquake and invaded by Japanese.

5 - Pripyat, Ukraine

This was one of the cities that were very close to the Chernobyl plant that after the nuclear accident, had to be evacuated entirely. After being abandoned by her 50 thousand inhabitants, came to be populated by wolves, wild horses, wild boars and beavers.

6 - Vila Epecuén, Argentina

The salty waters of Lake Epecuén attracted tens of thousands of tourists from the Argentine capital in high season. However, in 1985, the trendy destination made dramatic headlines. After a rainy winter, the lake's water level rose by an incredible 10 meters, causing residents and traders in the region to flee their homes in a hurry. Nowadays, after the volume of water has dropped, we see a devastated scenario that refers to the aridity of the desert.
