The consequences of human intolerance

Do you know that curiosity that, when we are born, begins to make our life? Well, in my case, since I understood myself by people, I asked myself: why were people “colored”? In the face of such strangeness, my mother asked: can you explain to me why people are of different colors?

The answer I received from my mother, definitively shaped my way of seeing the world: “Daughter, this difference in people's colors is of no importance, the important thing is what people do in this world, that is, how they behave, their character, respect for others. The color difference is nothing, the important thing, the difference that matters, and the behavior, and what people do good or bad, that is what is the real difference in colors ”.

Damn, that “definition” of my mother, stayed on my mind until I reached adulthood and, the more I lived with a larger universe, in different environments: academic, professional, social, family and, even in romantic relationships, but my mother was right and she was grateful for preventing me from falling into the trap of being contaminated by one of the worst diseases that exist: racial prejudice.

Besides, I was taught that prejudice, of any nature, is idiotic. Well, during these demonstrations that are taking place in the United States - USA, I was able to watch with awe that, it seems, people, still have to use violence to show their (legitimate) indignation, due to a barbaric act by a “white” police officer, against another “black” one, which resulted in the death of the latter.

In the 21st century, how can we accept that barbarities like this continue to happen? How can we understand that that “colored exterior”, that of the skin, is worth more than we are as people?

Moral of the story: will people, one day, be contaminated by this terrible disease, RACIAL PREJUDICE, or any other type, will be able to heal, to understand that, the best difference of COLOR, what about the colors of nature, artists, painters, the rainbow, children's games in schools?

People, we will value what really makes a difference, that is, the colors that we bring within each of us, such as: that of love, affection, knowing how to put yourself in the other's place, sharing, exercising The GOOD FIGHT, to come together to create a better, more egalitarian, smarter, healthier and, why not say, more fun world.
