Clean Record Law vs. Elections

The Complementary Law nº135 / 2010, better known as the Clean Sheet Law, is a major breakthrough within the universe of so many others that have proved innocuous over the years. Popular pressure was the main driver of this “revolutionary” event.

And, there were 1.6 (one million and six hundred thousand signatures), something positive because it demonstrates that the people are beginning to become aware of the strength they have: they are in CF / 88 “All power emanates from the people, and in their name it will be exercised”, that is, the power is of the people and, for the people. However, according to the IBGE, in 2012 we were 198.7 million and, in the projection made in real time by this Institute, we are reaching 203,104,416 Brazilians.

If we make a comparison, between the number of people who signed the petition and the total population, we will come to some conclusions: the number of people who signed the petition, could have been more significant, but it is already a beautiful start; however, we can do much more if we know how to use the strength we have intelligently.

Considering that we are in the middle of the electoral process, surrounded by political propaganda on all sides - we all become an island - we have an obligation to pay close attention to what THEY tell us, and be able to analyze and conclude, that certain “promises” are unworkable, true stories of “Old lady”, as my grandmother used to say.

Be careful, but be very careful, with the types of candidates, who use that lenga lenga of the type: “poor man, exploited by the oppressors of capitalism, to be elected, you will have health, education, security, employment, minimum wage well above we have today, security, quality public transport and generation of more jobs ”.

Of course, we all deserve and are entitled to everything that is being promised, but promises are not enough. The politician, with a minimum of seriousness, is aware that for there to be a real change, resources and planning are necessary so that the taxes collected are used well. However, there must be, above all, seriousness and honesty with public money.

To be clean sheet, to comply with the provisions of the law, it will do no good if the elected officials, in possession of their mandates, do not know how to honor the campaign promises. Such an attitude would be a sham, worse than having a dirty record because it would not only be defeating the law, but also the confidence of those who elected them.

Let us be attentive, not to the promises, but let us seek to know the trajectory of the candidates. We have technology in our favor, making it possible to find out who is who. The past of the candidates, however much they want, cannot be masked, the truth is fundamental to free the voter from the trap of buying "cat in a poke".

And, never sell your vote, because tomorrow that kind of attitude will turn against you: don't forget the united people, you will never be defeated as long as you are well informed and not conformed. To those who have access to reliable sources of information, a suggestion: to pass them on to friends, neighbors, co-workers, get together at home, in your condo, because this is our best weapon to promote a "revolution", in a good sense, making this our Brazil, not only the “Country of the future”, but Brazil's gift!
