My people, since this Pandemic, unfortunately, appeared many times I hear the expression: "it is the new normal". And then I ask myself: what do you mean, what does “the new normal” mean?
I may be wrong, out of date, losing the focus of the new language, distanced from the new and modern way of being of society, but I'm sorry, I refuse to accept this new way of feeling life. The media, at all times, talking about a “new normal”, without however clarifying the meaning of this expression.
Tell me then, how to calmly consider, a “new normal”, where we see people losing their jobs, many, without even being able to feed themselves, an increasing number of people infected by this terrible virus, many lives lost, we have to stay away from the people we love, studying something almost impossible, exhausted health professionals, hospitals with compromised care, lack of supplies, in short, a chaotic picture, too sad.
However, what impresses me most is the behavior of a large number of people, who act as if nothing is happening, promoting parties (celebrating what?), Crowds on beaches, disregarding the distance rules, without wearing a mask, or that is, in addition to not protecting themselves, they serve as a vehicle for spreading the virus and, often, victimizing people in their own family.
What is normal for me, which I have always known, translates into a lot of awareness that we are responsible for ourselves, but also for our peers, when we are selfish, seeing this type of thinking as normal: “it is good for me, whoever wants to be damn it ”.
Certainly, it is up to government officials to provide all the means to combat this situation, assuming the command regarding the purchase of vaccines, freeing up funds for the acquisition of inputs, supporting the hospital structure, health professionals, promoting more effective campaigns to guide the population, but it is also up to people to be aware of their responsibilities, the economy needs the collaboration of all so that the country can grow again and we can recover jobs. And, for me, it is NORMAL.
